About the Author A native of Georgia, Mr. Ferguson grew up in the city of Atlanta where he was graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He has been employed in various capacities in the financial services arena since 1974 and currently resides in Winchester, Virginia with his wife of 28 years, Melissa. An amateur student of the Civil War all of his life, Mr. Ferguson first visited Hollywood Cemetery in 1994 and started researching the lives of Confederate soldiers profiled in his book. With the help of many friends and historians, Hollywood Cemetery: Her Forgotten Soldiers: Confederate Field Officers at Rest was completed in the fall of 2002 as a private printing. Mr. Ferguson has recently published an index record of all known Confederates buried in the cemetery for the benefit of future generations. His newly published book Southerners At Rest is available here and will be followed by a book detailing the history of the R.E. Lee Camp Soldiers Home. Mr. Ferguson also offers a Civil War oriented theme tour of the Hollywood Cemetery grounds at reasonable rates. Please request date availability by email. |
